Shetland Sheepdog Shelties are gentle and obedient dogs. They can stay well in small apartment too. They have overall good agility, speed, and endurance as a herding dog. Their coat are long, and straight.
Although they are quiet, but they are still playful and affectionate. This type of dog has high intelligence, and they listen to instruction well and excel at obedience training. They like to chase things that moves.
These are herd dog, this makes them good watchdogs. They are very protective of their family. But they are not usually aggressive. Farmers used them to herd sheep and other livestock. They being given task to do.
This breed of dog can be very energetic but at the same time can stay relax and calm.
